On the first day we pick up the group from the airport or border crossing. After picking up the group by private car, transit or taxi, we set off towards Doğubayazıt. It takes 2 hours 45 minutes to reach Doğubeyazıt from Van airport. Dogubayazit is a city located at the foot of Mount Ararat. The distance between Doğubeyazıt and Ağrı airport is 1 hour 45 minutes. The distance between Dogubeyazit and Igdir is only 50 minutes. Whichever airport our customers choose, we are ready at that airport with a vehicle and pick up the group. We go to the hotel in Doğubayazıt and our customers stay in the hotel that night. The group can rest at the hotel or visit the bazaar centre.
On the 2nd day, after having breakfast at the hotel between 6:30 and 7:30 in the morning, i.e. around 9:00, we put all our materials in the car and get on the minibus with our local guide and set off towards the 2200 metre high village of Mount Ararat. After a journey of about 50 minutes, we arrive at Çevirme village (2200 metres). After unloading all our materials here, our private cook, who belongs to our group, gives us a lunch package and 1.5 litres of water for lunch on the way. After the porters load all the materials on the horses, we move towards the first camp. Our local guide takes the small backpacks with the group members and moves towards the first camp. The location of the vehicle is about 8 kilometres between 2200 metres and 3300 metres which is the first camp. It takes about 5 hours. We stop about three times on the way. When the group arrives at the camp, our cook prepares tea, hot water, coffee and snacks. After listening to our group in the kitchen, we pitch a tent together. Thus, those who want can take photos, those who want can rest in the kitchen tent and drink tea or coffee. In the evening, after our cook prepares the local dishes, the meals are eaten at 6 or 6:30 pm. After the meal, people can have tea or coffee in the kitchen and take photos of the stars outside at night.
On the third day, after breakfast, everyone packs up their tents at around 9 am and delivers all their belongings and suitcases, except for the small rucksack, to the hammers. Here the chief of staff loads the supplies onto the horses and moves towards the second camp. Our cook also gives everyone a packed lunch and water. Our local guide takes the group to the second camp at 4200 metres. After a journey of about 3 hours we arrive at the second camp and after arriving we set up the tents together. Our cook also prepares snacks and tea. After preparing our small tents and eating in the kitchen tent, those who want to take photos outside rest in their own tents. After having dinner at 5 or 5:30 pm, our guide has a meeting with the group. After a short explanation, everyone goes to bed in their own tents to get up early the next day.
On the 4th day, everyone wakes up at 1 am and comes to the kitchen tent. At 2 o’clock after breakfast, everyone takes their own small bags, also puts spare coats, gloves, boots for walking on ice in their small bags and at 2 o’clock, accompanied by a professional local guide, sets off to the summit, i.e. 5165 metres. The journey takes about 6 hours. We stop about three times on the way. It is very important to go slowly. The slower people walk, the stronger they summit. After reaching the summit around 8 in the morning and waiting at the summit for a while, after taking photos at the summit, if the weather is very clear, they can watch the summit of Mount Alburuz in Russia with their binoculars. They can also see the borders of Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, Georgia with the naked eye from the summit of Mount Ararat.
They can also see the summit of Mount Subhan in Turkey. According to the researches of experts, there are about 10 million cubic metres of snow on the summit of Mount Ararat in summer. After summiting a little bit, we go back to the second camp. We descend after about 3 or 4 hours. When we land in the camp, after eating and drinking in the camp, we rest in the tent for about an hour and after an hour we give all the materials back to the horses and take our small bags and go down to the first camp with the local guide. When we descend to the first camp at 3.300 metres, our cook prepares some snacks. After having a snack, we set up the tents together and since the group is tired, everyone goes to sleep in their own tent. After having dinner at 7 o’clock, we take sunset photos of Mount Ararat, singing, dancing and playing Kurdish and Turkish songs with the local people in the kitchen. We go to bed at 10 or 11 o’clock at night.
After having breakfast at 8 am on the 5th day, we give all the materials to the horses and porters again. Accompanied by the guide, we descend 2200 metres to where the car is. After putting our materials in the car again, we get in the car. We go to the hotel in Doğubeyazıt and after taking a bath at the hotel, we take a cultural tour of Doğubeyazıt by minibus. We visit Doğubeyazıt İhsakpaşa castle and a hill similar to Noah’s ark and stay at the hotel in the evening.
On the 6th day, after having breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we leave our group to the airport by private car and say goodbye.
