On the first day we pick up the group at the airport or at the border gate. After picking up the group by private car, transit or taxi, we drive to Doğubayazıt. It takes 2 hours and 45 minutes to reach Doğubeyazıt from Van airport. Doğubeyazıt is a city at the foot of Mount Ararat. The distance between Doğubeyazıt and Ağrı Airport is 1 hour and 45 minutes. The distance between Doğubeyazit and Iğdır is only 50 minutes. Regardless of which airport our customers choose, we can also be there by car to pick up the group. We drive to Doğubayazıt to the hotel, our clients stay overnight in this hotel. The group can relax in the hotel if they want, or visit the bazaar centre.
On the second day, after having breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we get into the car with the group between 8 and 9 am and set off for Mount Ağrı. We get off at the village of ‘Çevirme’ at an altitude of 2200 metres, and here our special cook, who is part of our group, gives everyone a packed lunch, and the porters load all the ingredients on the horses and move to the first camp, which is the winter camp, i.e. at an altitude of 2800 metres. At the same time, our professional local guide carries the skis with the group or continues hiking through the snow without skis. We reach the first camp at an altitude of 2800 metres in about 3 hours. We stop two or three times on the way there. When we arrive at the camp, our cook prepares all the meals and drinks and we spend the night in the first camp.
Today for acclimatisation walk up to the camp of the second and about 4000 meters and ski back to the 2800 meters to our winter base camp, eat our food and drink some hot drinks and overnight in our tent, be ready for the next day.
On the fourth day, after breakfast in the morning, between 9am and 10am, the equipment and all materials are loaded onto the horses and we move towards the second camp [3500] with our local guide and we camp at an altitude of 3500 metres. After dinner, hot water and tea, the group goes to bed.
We get up at 1 o’clock in the morning. Our cook has already prepared everything and after breakfast we leave our things in the camp. After taking our small rucksack and packing food and clothes in it, we set off for the summit under the guidance of a local guide. We reach the summit in about 6 or 7 hours. After staying on the summit for a while, we go back to the second camp [3500] and ski down. We end up in camp in about 40 to 50 minutes. After we’ve eaten something at the camp, all the equipment is loaded onto the horses. We immediately ride down to the centre of Doğubayazıt, and in the late afternoon we go to the hotel for the night.
On the sixth day, after breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we leave our guests at the airport with private car agar.
Important materials for climbing the summit: 2 pairs of gloves. Cold weather shoes suitable for winter. Cold resistant trousers. Two jackets, one should be a normal jacket or coat, the other should be a thick winter coat.
